The Sentence Paintings are loosely based on sentence structure diagrams that I have loved creating since my childhood. The compositions displayed in these paintings do not strictly follow the rules of diagramming sentence structure. Instead, they suggest the forming and organizing of words that ultimately resolve into considered, communicable thoughts. Think of them as a sort of fumbling towards (hopefully) transferable meaning between people.
